THE EXERCISE CENTRE - in association with Southfields Physiotherapy
Christian Onwere Exercise Specialist
Christian Onwere has been involved in the health and fitness industry for over ten years. He originally qualified as a SAQ (Speed, Agility and Quickness) fitness personnel in 1999 and worked as a fitness coach for many amateur and professional sportsmen, helping to hone and refine their sports specific skills.
Christian then went on to complete the YMCA Fitness Professional Qualifications; numerous Paul Chek (Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology) Certifications, achieving his Master Trainer Level 3 whilst working at one of the countries leading health clubs; the advanced Boxercise and Kickbox Instructor certification and finally the highly regarded GP Referral Qualification with the Wright Foundation.
Christian believes in ‘functional training’ and training the body as a whole as opposed to isolating specific areas. This type of ‘functional training’ is designed to help people in all aspects of their everyday lives with the ultimate aim to restore, rehabilitate, strengthen and coordinate movement patterns within the body as a whole. He also has a passion for helping people and likes to work closely with allied health professionals (such as the GP’s and physio’s) to get people back on track in the event of illness or injury.
Christians’ areas of special interest include weight loss, core conditioning, functional training, corrective exercise and working with special populations, such as Diabetics.
