Irene Allen completed her physiotherapy honours degree in South Africa in 1997. She is also a trained Clinical Pilates specialist, Personal Fitness Consultant and an Ergonomist. Irene has worked in private practice for over 10 years, specialising in sports and spinal injuries and has lectured in the fitness industry locally and abroad. Her physiotherapy and fitness studies were inspired by 12 years of Elite level gymnastics. She endeavours to bring her patients to optimum health, not only with ‘hands-on’ treatment but also with specialised exercise rehabilitation to prevent the recurrence of injuries and pain, that is … getting to the root of the problem!
Scott Smith completed his Physiotherapy degree at the University of Sydney, Australia in 2003. He has a wide range of experience in both the public and private sector, including the education and assessment of university students. Scott has worked with club and representative Rugby Union, Rugby League, and Football clubs, provided on-field injury management, and off field rehabilitation. Scott has also toured with the Australian Institute of Sport Rugby League team on tours of France and England. He uses a combination of manual techniques and strength rehabilitation to optimise recovery, prevent re-injury and maximise performance.

Vivienne graduated with a Diploma in Physiotherapy from St Mary's Hospital,
London in July 1988. She spent 4 years working for the NHS then set up her
own practice in 1992, which she sold in March 2004. Viv is a qualified
Pilates instructor, having done post graduate training through the
Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) and she is an
Accredited Healer. She has also trained in the Graston technique, a form of
soft tissue mobilisation. She is very interested in using Graston to treat
back and neck pain, especially chronic problems, combining it with Pilates
for full rehabilitation.

Claire Hahn graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2003. She worked for two years in Johannesburg during which time she completed a year’s post- graduate qualification in specialised Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy. She has lived in the UK for two years working predominantly in the private sector. Claire is passionate about Pilates and is fully qualified through the Australian Physiotherapy Pilates Institute. Claire has a special interest in Sporting and Spinal injuries and is a keen runner.
Dr Jacquie McKeown graduated from DIT, Durban SA and has been in private practise for 10 years. She has been based between Ireland and the UK. She has a keen interest in Sports Injuries and Paediatric care with her treatment scope including Transeva therapy, Spinal and Extremity Manipulation, Cranial therapy and Dry Needling.
Jacquie's earlier career in the private sector included work in a busy Dublin practice, a central London practice and in South Africa on various sports field, including working at the 1997 All Africa Games, Mr Price Pro Surfing event and assisting with the Natal sharks.Currently Jacquie works very closely with the Leicester Tigers particularly with the Transeva therapy and has a particular interest in Paediatric care..
Jacquie works hard at educating her patients on their injury and with a combination of all her treatments is able to work on most cases to alleviate the symptoms and minimise the risk of injury recurrence.
Dr Michelle Kew completed her masters in Chiropractic in South Africa, Durban, in 2006. Her thesis involved researching into the lack of understanding between personal trainers and the Chiropractic profession. Michelle went on to complete an intensive Pilates course following her thesis outcome. Her passion lies in restoring pain-free, full range of motion using soft tissue therapy, dry tissue needling and manipulation. On following through with treatment using Pilates techniques, she focuses on retraining incorrect learnt muscle responses using Pilates to help the body to correct muscular imbalances and posture which minimizes the chances of re-injury.
Michelle has gained rewarding experience working at one of the top health Spa’s in a game reserve, Royal Malewane in SA, treating foreigners with holistic Chiropractic treatment. She is at present managing the pilates at Southfields Physiotherapy, instructing a number of the classes and offering Chiropractic care as well as pilates one-on-one and two-on-one sessions.

After changing direction from psychology, in 1997, David qualified successively in holistic massage, sports and remedial massage and most recently osteopathy in 2005. He has also taught post graduate classes in sports massage. David's approach to physical therapy makes strong use of osteopathic principles, whole body assessment and indirect osteopathic techniques that are well suited to treating whiplash and other chronic pain conditions. These techniques have also proven very effective in relieving the symptoms of chest infection, and fibromyalgia. David treats a wide variety of patients from those suffering arthritis, professional sportsmen and sportswomen, to newborn children. David has recently opened his own Osteopathy clinic in Colne, Lancashire and travels to London fortnightly to treat patients at Southfields Physiotherapy.

Natalie is a qualified sports, remedial, and pregnancy massage therapist providing clients with deep tissue, stress relieving massage and rehabilitation advice. She offers relief to those suffering from injuries as well as every day aches and pains, including discomfort experienced during pregnancy. She has also joined Southfields Physio as its new Operations Manager, helping to grow and ensure the smooth running of the clinic, and at the same time, client satisfaction. Natalie has worked in managerial roles both inside and outside the health sector. She was practice manager and massage therapist at another clinic during its expansion to a new site 5 times it's original size. Natalie has also managed in restaurants which has given her invaluable experience in motivating staff and promoting team work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, all the while ensuring a pleasant experience for the customer.

Francesca graduated from the London College of Massage with a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage in 2006. Since then, she has gained experience in clinical practices treating patients with numerous muscular aliments including sports injuries, desk-related strain and relaxation massage. In addition to her interest in Deep Tissue Massage, Francesca also specialises in Pregnancy Massage treating expectant mothers in all trimesters as well as postnatally.
Clare has a BSc honours degree in Nutritional Therapy from the University of Westminster, Europe’s premier training facility for complementary therapies. Clare is fully insured and registered with the British Association of Nutritional Therapists (BANT). She is also approved by the NHS directory of Alternative & Complementary Practitioners. Clare runs nutritional workshops and seminars for both corporate and other groups. Before retraining as a nutritionist, Clare worked for over 10 years in finance at various city-based legal firms. This experience is invaluable in giving her a greater understanding of the high pressured lives we all lead. She is passionate about getting results, offering ‘workable’ nutritional and lifestyle advice, aimed at fitting into busy lives. Clare particularly enjoys challenging cases, so if you are experiencing any ongoing, unexplained or complex health problem, or simply feel ‘under the weather’, you may well find nutritional therapy particularly helpful.

Christian Onwere has been involved in the health and fitness industry for over ten years. He originally qualified as a SAQ (Speed, Agility and Quickness) fitness personnel in 1999 and worked as a fitness coach for many amateur and professional sportsmen, helping to hone and refine their sports specific skills. Christian then went on to complete the YMCA Fitness Professional Qualifications; numerous Paul Chek (Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiology) Certifications, achieving his Master Trainer Level 3; the Advanced Boxercise and Kickbox Instructor certification and finally the highly regarded GP Referral Qualification with the Wright Foundation.
Christian runs "The Exercise Centre" from the Southfields Physiotherapy studio at 193 Replingham Road. He does one-to-one personal training sessions, Boxercise classes suitable for men and women, and specialised training including functional training, corrective exercise and working with special populations such as obesity, diabetes and osteoporosis. He believes that dreams, goals and ambitions that you thought were unattainable, with careful planning and a clear strategy can be achieved.
Sue Wixley is a British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) and Yoga Alliance accredited teacher. Sue has a down-to-earth teaching style and her classes combine a meditative physical workout, with deep stretches and breathing techniques. Sue did her teacher training in the UK with Simon Low, founder of Triyoga and The Yoga Academy, and has also been taught by other world-renowned teachers such as AG Mohan, Danny Paradise, Sarah Powers and Shiva Rea. Sue has been practising yoga since 1999 and teaching since 2005.
Susan has been teaching yoga for nearly 20 years and has taught in many health
and fitness centres in London. She has achieved the Karuna Yoga Teachers Certificate,
Iyengar teaching level 1, and is a REPs: Advanced instructor Level 3. Susan is an Affiliate of the Yoga Alliance and is also a Naturopathic Iridologist. Of her yoga she says, "We are all individuals both physically and mentally. My aim is to teach in a way that allows everyone to discover the practice that suits them and to realise that no matter what age or ability, Yoga can really benefit your life".
Susan also runs courses in stress management. These courses teach how to recognise stress and the effects that being over stressed will have on health. The course incorporates exercise, breathing, visualisation, relaxation and meditation, alongside other practical techniques for managing stress.
Susan hails from Durban in sunny South Africa. She is our friendly and efficient day time receptionist and is on hand to answer your calls and enquiries at Southfields Physiotherapy.
Sue is also a qualified beauty therapist and treats private clients on Saturdays at her beauty therapy rooms in Earlsfield. Sue is a real people person who loves spending time with her family and friends and she also enjoys outdoor activities like camping, biking and hiking.
